What We Want!

When my children go to prep, what do I want?

  • A child friendly school environment
  • Adequate staffing (A full-time teacher and a full-time teacher’s aide)
  • Qualified Early Childhood staff
  • Adequate resources (indoor and outdoor)
  • Learning through play
  • Equal opportunities for all children

    • What do I want the Government to do before my child attends Prep?

  • Mandate that Prep teachers have early childhood qualifications or undergo significant professional development to ensure they understand the play-based curriculum.
  • Appoint a full-time teacher aide for all prep classes
  • Increase the amount of money available for resources
  • Install children’s toilets in or next to all Prep classrooms
  • Provide a designated outdoor play area for all Prep classes that is accessible and age appropriate. I want parents to be given all the information about what is going to happen next year and in subsequent years. I want parents to exercise their right to be informed and to raise their concerns with their teachers, principals, school P&C and local members
