TEACHERS, AIDES, PRINCIPALS AND PARENTS TIME TO SPEAK OUT

It’s seems that Prep-Alert are not the only one’s receiving an increase in the numbers of parents, teachers and principals raising concerns about Prep and in particular, the lack of teacher aide support.

We know that many Prep teachers and teacher aides are working extremely hard to provide their students with a beneficial prep year, some with the support of their Principals but others unfortunately without. We also know that they are doing so at great personal expense in terms of time, money and physical and psychological stress.

As parents, teachers, teacher aides and principals we must make the most of opportunities to let the government know about the real impact of Prep in our schools. Tell them about the unmet needs of Prep and the impact it is having on students, teachers, aides and schools - and ask them to do something about it.

The Queensland Teachers Union (QTU), The Queensland Council of Parents and Citizens Associations (QCPCA), and the LHMU (union for Teacher Aides) have now been prompted to gather information about what is happening in Prep. This is our opportunity as parents, teachers and principals to have our say and improve the current Prep situation.
